Pest Control
Biological Treatments
All treatments are specific to the pest concerned, therefore harmless to wildlife, pets & children. Our biological treatments are natural, nematode organisms that are already present in our soil. They are not pests, but they prey on garden pests giving us a natural and environmentally friendly method of garden pest control. Research has isolated the nematode that kills specific garden pests such as chafer grubs, leatherjackets, ants and more. Unlike with chemical insecticides, the pest will not develop a resistance to it.

Ants
Although not as harmful to turf as other pests, ant hills can disfigure lawns. They usually appear in summer and over time will lead to the lawn becoming uneven. Ants can also damage roots which may cause yellowing.
Our single or repeat biological treatment will disperse ants and their colonies.

Leatherjackets ( Cranefly Larvae )
This is a species of cranefly, also known as daddy-long-legs, which is one of the most common cranefly in Britain. The larvae, known as 'leatherjackets', are notorious pests of grass and are so called because they have a tough, leathery outer layer. Very common and widespread, the larvae occur in garden lawns, bowling greens and golf courses. Adult craneflies emerge between June and September, mating occurs shortly after emergence and females lay one batch of eggs amongst the grass. Around 2 weeks later, the larvae hatch and feed on the bases of grass roots and are often serious pests.
Our single or repeat biological treatment will eradicate leatherjackets.

Garden Chafer Grub
The Garden Chafer Grub is the smaller relative of the May Bug. Its colour is sometimes dark, almost black but is usually green. The shell has green or blue iridescence. Adults emerge in late June when they chew the leaves of grass and cause much damage to lawns. The larvae are like those of the leatherjacket and they have the same habit of eating the base of grass roots and are often serious pests.

Disease Control
Fungus attack is the main cause of disease on lawns.
If you discover something different with your lawn that is not a result of a pest problem; discoloration, rings, rust marks or spots, then an assessment would be the best way to identify & resolve any problems.
To avoid lawn disease, maintain your lawn. Fertilise your lawn with the correct treatment at the right time of year. Aerate, de-thatch and water your lawn properly so that it is healthy enough to resist lawn diseases and stays healthy and attractive.
